The Maharashtra DSO U-14 boys team lifted the third place trophy at the 54thNational School Games football tournament 2008-09. Twenty two state teams participated at this tournament organised by School Game Federation of India (SGFI) hosted by the Govt of Maharashtra, Dept of Sports & Youth Welfare.
PIFA Director Mr Nirvan Shah was the Maharashtra team Coach as well as the National selector for the India school team.
This is the first time that Maharashtra has finished in the top three of these tournaments.
